Build Rain Garden: Southfield Civic Center (May 25th, 26th, 27th)
Join in! Get your hands dirty this spring and make an enormous difference for your Rouge River.
Join the effort to build a brand new rain garden at the Southfield Civic Center! Over the course of three volunteer days, we'll mulch and plant this 1,600 square foot rain garden, which will soak up and filter over 7,000 gallons of stormwater every time it rains. The garden will feature an attractive diversity of native plants that support birds, butterflies, and pollinator species. This spring, make a real difference on behalf of your Rouge River!
We will work in teams in separate 3 hour shifts (morning & afternoon) on May 11, 12, & 13. Please see our website at https://therouge.org/restoration-projects/ to register for specific dates & times.
