Detroit Horse Power

Detroit Horse Power will hold our fifth gala event on May 3, 2024 at Ford Field's Hall of Legends! The event will feature a seated dinner, live music, silent auction, and an educational program about Detroit Horse Power’s mission. The event will benefit our youth development programs, which foster critical success skills in Detroit’s children through riding and caring for horses. Our free summer horse camps and year-round after-school programs have taught hundreds of Detroit youth the five social-emotional skills we can all learn from horses: Perseverance, Empathy, Responsible risk-taking, Confidence, and Self-control (PERCS). We will continue to expand our program offerings that bring kids from Detroit to partnering horse barns around southeast Michigan while moving closer to our long-term goal of repurposing vacant land to construct a new urban equestrian center on a 14-acre demolished Detroit school site.
