Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
This year we are piloting our brand new boy's program called PACE (formerly known as STRIDE) and we are excited to celebrate with our new participants. PACE stands for perseverance, achievement, community, and empowerment. Come see this new program in action!
Volunteer Registration for the 5k is now open and we need your help! This year's event will take place on Sunday, November 17th at Belle Isle.
To ensure a successful event, we need 100+ volunteers! As a volunteer, you can pass out water to thirsty runners, give out high fives at the finish line, or help our staff with morning registrations and merchandise. Rain, shine, or snow the event is always a blast!
