Grant Writer

We are looking for dedicated and knowledgeable grant writers. While we are passionate, equipped, and ready to serve, the reality is it takes funds to operate an exceptional organization. We invite you to bring your passion, skills, and experience to our team as a long-term volunteer. The Liaison position Provides follow-up reports to grantees, researches new grant opportunities, and assists in maintaining grantee relationships.


Most of the documents needed for a grant proposal are completed but need a final once-over to be grantor ready.



This is a volunteer position -

We want to recruit a volunteer for 1-2 hours each day or one day per week for six months.


The role of Grant Writer Liason volunteer will be to assist the staff in compiling or developing materials to submit to granting or other funding organizations, guidance, and assistance with the research, identification, and writing of mini-grants. The role is very much about making a lasting impact on the lives of the residents we serve.


Ideal Candidate:

The role would suit a new graduate passionate about community service or looking to gain experience in a new field. The Grant Writer Liason is expected to partake in brainstorming sessions and refine drafts of grant applications.

This role would suit someone who:

Is looking to gain experience in grant writing or community relations.
Is familiar with grant writing techniques'
Is an excellent communicator.
Can write accurately and succinctly.
The role

Refining all things grant related with a particular focus on:

Monitor grant initiatives
Compile or develop materials to submit to giving or other funding organizations.
Support "Best Start" Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (including analysis, grant writing, report/article writing)

This position requires proficiency in drafting and editing various professional correspondence, such as outreach newsletters, letters to potential donors and corporate partners, and promotional materials about our classes and community programs. Most importantly, we are interested in enthusiastic, articulate volunteers who can passionately communicate our mission.
