Mittens for Detroit receives tens of thousands of new mittens and gloves between September and January every year. How do we process them? The Big Sort! The Big Sort is actually a series of little Big Sorts, where teams of 3-20 people from an organization, club, high school, workplace come to our office in downtown Detroit to sort, count, and box up the pairs for our Distribution Partners to pick up!
It's a fun team-building activity, we have teams come back year after year. Weekends go fast and are generally filled for the season before mid-November. Week days are easier to plan. Your team can expect to spend between 2-3 hours, and they will be pleasantly surprised how fast the time goes!
We set the dates for The Big Sorts based on YOUR choice of dates. There are no set dates for the events. The time can vary, however we offer only daytime slots. Please contact Mittens for Detroit directly to make arrangements for your Big Sort event.
