Black Brilliance Day is a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the achievements of the Black community in honor of Black History Month. This event brings families together for an evening of hands-on activities, storytelling, and demonstrations that highlight the contributions of Black inventors and changemakers. It’s a meaningful way to learn, connect, and honor the legacy of Black excellence.
Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in set-up/take-down
- Activity Facilitator (Future Inventors Table): Guide children and families in creating recycled-material robots, encourage creativity, and share stories about notable Black inventors
- Activity Facilitator (Legacy Inventors Table): Lead participants in crafting hand-drums, discuss the cultural significance of drumming in Black history, and engage attendees in meaningful conversations
