Brilliant Detroit

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community?

Brilliant Cities is a neighborhood-powered model ensuring children 0-8 are school-ready, healthy, and supported. We do this by transforming houses into community hubs where children and families have what they need to thrive. We currently operate 16 hubs across 24 neighborhoods in Detroit and 1 in Pontiac, where families with young children come for programs in education, health, and family support, and to build community with one another. to receive love, safety, growth, and fellowship.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our efforts in creating kid success cities for all, and fostering the love of literacy and community engagement.

What You'll Do

• Engage with community residents to share important resources and information accessible/walkable in their neighborhoods
• Build stronger connections with your community
• Gain valuable experience in community outreach and public service all while learning more about Brilliant
• Become a Brilliant Ambassador

Requirements

• Complete a standard background check and volunteer handbook
• A positive outlook on Brilliant and willingness to learn more about our work
• Passion for helping others and improving neighborhoods

• Support us in promoting our Brilliant Central hub, a vital community resource site offering essential services and educational programs aimed at boosting literacy rates throughout Detroit!

Outreach for Brilliant Fitzgerald's Juneteenth Celebration

Wednesday, June 18; 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

• Help us boost community participation and engage future Brilliant Detroit participants by spreading the word about Brilliant Fitzgerald and their upcoming Juneteenth celebration!

Outreach for Brilliant Brightmoor General Hub Programming 

Monday, April 14-Wednesday April 30; noon- 2 p.m.

• Assist with phone banking efforts, helping to promote our Brilliant Brightmoor hub's upcoming summer camp programming and wonderful community resources!
