Position: Mentor
Location: Detroit, MI
Commitment: 2 days per week, Monday & Wednesday (4pm-8pm)

About the Role:
Caught Up Mentoring is seeking dedicated, compassionate individuals to join our team as mentors. As a mentor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the lives of young people by providing guidance, encouragement, and a steady presence. Your support will help our youth develop confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to succeed. By mentoring, you’ll be part of a community that transforms lives and uplifts future leaders.

Responsibilities:

• One-on-One Mentorship: Build a trusting relationship with a young person, helping them set and achieve personal, academic, and life goals.
• Group Mentoring: Lead and participate in group activities, discussions, and life skills workshops designed to enhance teamwork, communication, and positive decision-making.
• Academic Support: Collaborate with tutors to encourage academic progress, celebrate achievements, and address any obstacles.
• Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating healthy habits, empathy, and accountability.

What We’re Looking For:

• Commitment to Consistency: Show up regularly and reliably, as consistency is key to building trust with our youth.
• Empathy and Patience: Be able to listen and understand the unique experiences and perspectives of each young person.
• Enthusiasm for Making a Difference: A genuine desire to invest in the lives of young people and support their journey to success.
• Experience in Youth Work (preferred but not required): Background in education, counseling, or youth services is a plus, though training and resources will be provided.
