Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program/Sustainability Director to lead our efforts in advancing sustainability initiatives within our community, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and support for individuals with different abilities. This role is instrumental in driving our programming, securing grants, and fostering strong community and organizational relationships. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a passion for sustainability, a proven track record in program management, grant writing, community engagement, and a deep commitment to inclusion.

Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management:

The Program/Sustainability Director is responsible for overseeing the organization's programs, ensuring their successful implementation, and driving their growth and impact, with a strong focus on inclusion.

Develop and implement sustainability programs that promote inclusion and align with the organization's mission and goals.

Oversee all programming efforts, ensuring that they are designed to be inclusive and accessible to individuals with different abilities.

Monitor program performance, track key metrics, and make data-driven improvements to enhance inclusion.

Grant Writing and Fundraising:

Identify grant opportunities and develop grant proposals that highlight the organization's commitment to inclusion and support for individuals with different abilities.

Cultivate relationships with funding organizations and donors who share our passion for inclusion in sustainability initiatives.

Manage grant budgets, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.

Community Engagement:

Attend community meetings and collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure that sustainability initiatives are inclusive and address the needs of individuals with different abilities.

Build strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and residents, emphasizing the importance of inclusion in our programs.

Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, addressing concerns and facilitating communication related to inclusion.

Organizational Meetings:

Participate in organizational meetings, providing updates on program progress and sustainability initiatives, with a particular focus on inclusion.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that inclusion is integrated into all aspects of our sustainability efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Proven experience in sustainability program management, with a minimum of [X] years in a leadership role.

Strong track record of successful grant writing and fundraising for sustainability initiatives with an emphasis on inclusion.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with individuals with different abilities.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sustainable program strategies that prioritize inclusion.

Knowledge of environmental and social sustainability best practices, especially as they relate to inclusion.

Proficiency in grant management and reporting tools.
