Grant Writer

Role Overview: [The Grant Writer Volunteer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The volunteer will work closely with the fundraising team to identify funding opportunities that align with the organization's programs and initiatives.]

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research potential grant opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate entities.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, in accordance with each funder's guidelines and requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, deadlines, and outcomes.
  • Track and report on the progress of grant-funded programs and projects.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with current funders and cultivating relationships with prospective funders.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with grant writing techniques and best practices preferred.
  • Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising or grant writing is a plus.
  • Passion for the organization's mission and values.

Time Commitment: The expected time commitment per week or month is flexible.
