HOPE Shelters

Volunteer Opportunity:
Meal Host Group
I'm Interested!

Meal Host Groups plan a meal, prepare the food, and then bring the food and serve it to shelter guests. The unique impact of volunteers bringing positive experiences into the shelter lifts the spirits of people often experiencing too much negativity.

Meals are served each night at 5:30 and 6:00 pm. Groups usually arrive at 4:30/5:00 to warm food and leave by 7:30/8:00. An email from SignUpGenius will update you a few days before your date with the current number of meals needed and any special concerns (any vegetarians, gluten-free, etc.). Generally, we need 80 meals -- serving 65 at the Adult Shelter and dropping off 15 at the Recuperative Shelter. (There is more detail on our SignUpGenius.)

Adults only on-site because of low-barrier concerns. Call for any further explanation of this. (Several groups have younger people prepare the meal off-site.)

More detail can be found when signing up using SignUpGenius on any available night(s) of the year (Holidays go fast) --> Sign Up Results (signupgenius.com)Sign Up Results (signupgenius.com)
