Our Mentor Family is the foundation of our organization. Our team works closely alongside you to ensure that we support the bright futures of our students. The Center for Success Network is looking for people who love children and have a willingness to share time and joy with our staff and students as a virtual literacy mentor.
Requirements:
- 90 Minute Virtual Training Session
- 2-hour virtual Mentoring for Equity workshop
- Minimum commitment of one session weekly through the full program year OR a few hours monthly as a substitute mentor
- Service commitment through the entire Academic School Year (October- May)
- A Background Check
- High School Juniors and Seniors are also eligible to become mentors, but must have 2 non family references
Sessions are literacy focused and include time to build relationships with their students. Mentoring sessions will be 30 - 45 minutes long and include 4 parts - energize and goal setting, reading a book, literacy activity, and closing and reflection. Our experienced staff are present the entire session in case a mentor has a question or needs some assistance.
