Engaging with Starfish Family Services, Gleaners Food Bank Day involves various tasks to support the organization's mission to fight hunger and food insecurity.
Here’s a description of some tasks:
Food Sorting and Packing:
Starfish community partners will sort donated food items from Gleaners, and check for quality and safety. Then, the items will be packed into boxes/bags for distribution to Starfish Families and the community.
Distribution Support:
This may include setting up, handing out food, and interacting with Starfish families and community members in need.
Community Outreach and Education:
One might be involved in educating Starfish families and the community about food insecurity, healthy eating, and the services Gleaners provides by passing out nutritional flyers.
