Education is a key part of our work at Brilliant Detroit. Academic support is the core of our mission to achieving kid success neighborhoods. With this in mind, Brilliant Detroit will be hosting Back to School backpack giveaways events at our hubs! We would love your support in distributing school supply-stuffed backpacks and getting kids excited to go back to school. Some of our sites will be hosting larger open house-style events while others will be more focused on giving out school supplies exclusively. Volunteers are needed to assist in the set up, break down and clean up of the event's site, support, giveaways and family fun activities.
Please see the list of locations and the respective dates and times of their Back to School events below. Note that each shift is assigned to a specific hub and reflects the time that you should arrive at the hub.

Brilliant Fitzgerald Back to School Rally - Saturday, August 24 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (placed on 2-3 hour shifts based on need) Volunteers Needed: 8 - meet at Brilliant Fitzgerald to grab the bookbags, tables, chairs and tents. They will need to be able to lift 50 pounds.
