Volunteer Opportunity:
Tutors for Adult Learners - 2 Hours/Week
I'm Interested!

If you can spare two hours a week, you can open doors to opportunity for an adult in Oakland County!

Oakland Literacy Council seeks volunteers to serve as tutors to help adult learners reach their personal and academic goals. The learners may be preparing for the high school equivalency GED test, or they may be immigrants improving their English language skills. Our tutors work on a one-on-one basis with adult learners to create a personal and supportive relationship.

We train our volunteers for this role, provide proven curriculum, and work with our volunteers' schedules to match them with learners for two hours a week of instruction for about a year (with time off for vacations and holidays). Both in-person and remote tutoring options are available.

No special background is required. This is a volunteer opportunity where you really see the positive change you have on another person's life while improving your own life!
