Help us tell our story: Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan is excited to announce we’re celebrating our 20th Anniversary! We are a local, grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides wigs & support services to children ages 3 to 18 at no charge throughout the state of Michigan.
We are preparing for our signature event in September: our 20th Anniversary Gala and are collecting
“20 Stories for 20 Years” to film and share onscreen with our guests. This includes short stories/interview clips with some of the wig recipients & families we’ve served over the years, sponsors, outstanding volunteers, etc. We’ve helped over 5,200 Michigan children at no charge since we started this program, and you can be part of our legacy!
We are seeking a videographer to volunteer their time & talent to help us film & edit our 20 segments. This can grow into a paid opportunity.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Working with Founder & CEO Maggie Varney to plan video shoots
- Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment (we have a DJI camera)
- Filming videos on location at the Wellness Center / events in the community
- Preparing background film, also called “B” rolls if needed
- Editing footage after recording (W4K currently has a license for Adobe Premiere onsite)
- Adding photos/logos, text/chyrons and special effects to footage
