Position Summary: We seek a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Financial Case Manager to join our team. The Volunteer Financial Case Manager will work closely with families to assess their financial needs, develop personalized financial plans, and provide ongoing support and resources to help them achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial assessments for families to identify their financial strengths, challenges, and goals.
  • Develop personalized financial plans with families, setting short-term and long-term financial goals.
  • Provide financial education and coaching to families on topics such as budgeting, saving, debt management, and credit building.
  • Connect families with financial resources and services in the community, such as financial counseling, banking services, and affordable housing programs.
  • Assist families in accessing government benefits and tax credits they may be eligible for.
  • Monitor families' progress toward their financial goals and provide ongoing support, guidance, and motivation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other team members and community partners to ensure families receive comprehensive support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of personal finance principles and practices.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Time Commitment: Up to 15 hours a month
