Job Description - President – Ladies of Charity
The Ladies of Charity has a board of directors led by the board president. The president is the leader of the nonprofit and has a myriad of responsibilities in line with the mission of the organization: “To Serve, rather than be Served, in Humility, Simplicity and Charity.” Inherent in this statement is that we serve Christ in all that we do, enriching our members by way of their experience assisting those less fortunate in their day-to-day life challenges.
The Ladies of Charity is the oldest Catholic laywoman’s association in the world. The Oakland County Association of the Ladies of Charity was established in 1965 and has grown from thirty to over three hundred women. Every year, thousands of individuals are helped by the charitable works of the Ladies of Charity.
We maintain a warehouse (clothes closet/ food pantry) on the campus of St Hugo of the Hills Parish. We work cooperatively with over forty social service agencies to help the needy. We rely on our surrounding community and local churches for donations of food and clothing.
The position has various responsibilities including ensuring the mission of the organization is executed, its programs are carried out in support of that mission and its finances are managed to carry out that mission.
The position has a two-year term.
