Volunteer Opportunity:

Talk with Me Coordinator

Volunteer will help to coordinate and support the implementation of the Talk with Me mentoring program; this includes supervising volunteer mentors who are interacting with preschool children virtually.

Coordination involves making and maintaining connection with school administrators.
Support involves providing oversight that ensures the success of the program.
Supervision involves ‘checking in’ with the mentors and providing a safe space for them to reflect and learn from their relationship with their mentee.

Education: Some college or equivalent in education or human services preferred

• At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience preferred, but not necessary
• Ability to manage and multi-task while paying attention to details
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of reading, writing, and literacy development
• Presentation and facilitation skills
• Interpersonal skills (communication, problem solving, conflict management, collaboration)
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other database applications
• Familiar with internet applications

Expected Committment: Minimum of 10 hours per month
