Volunteer Opportunity:
Open to
Vice President
The mission of the Ladies of Charity is “To Serve, Rather Than Be Served, in Humility, Simplicity and Charity. The Ladies of Charity of St Vincent de Paul is the oldest Catholic laywoman’s organization in the world. Our challenge and mission in these difficult times is to meet the pressing needs of the poor, the sick, the old and the forgotten.
In our work, we partner with many social service agencies, food providers, food kitchens, surrounding parishes and other faith based organizations. The Ladies of Charity offers diverse opportunities to serve Christ: from our Clothes Closet / Food Pantry located at St Hugo’s to bingo at St Elizabeth Briarbank or making children’s face masks for social service agencies and many others. The President and Vice President oversee these activities.
The position backs up the President in managing the operation of the Ladies of Charity and will work closely with her. The Vice President will succeed the President at the end of her term. The position is supported by other executive board members and committee heads.
The ideal volunteer will have excellent oral and written communication and people skills coupled with a strong organizational aptitude. He or she will be motivated by the mission of the Ladies of Charity and its impact on the families we serve. This is a part-time volunteer position with the candidate determining their own schedule.
