Description

PACE Southeast Michigan is proud to present the first in-person Set the PACE 5K , a fundraiser to support older adults who wish to live independently, at Eastwood Beach in Stony Creek Metro Park.

Where do the proceeds from this event go?

The Set the PACE 5K fundraiser supports the PACE Southeast Michigan Community Giving Fund. While PACE Southeast Michigan provides care to older adults, there are other basic and emergency necessities that, due to funding regulations, are not covered by the program. The Community Giving Fund helps with costs for roof repairs, repair or replacement of appliances, and avoiding utility shutoffs and evictions. It allows one of the most vulnerable populations in southeast Michigan – our seniors – stay in the homes and communities they love.

Why "Set the PACE"?

While the 5K name of "Set the PACE" is a fun play on words with PACE Southeast Michigan, we also take great concern for how older adults are being cared for in our communities. We see setting the PACE as setting the bar for what it means for seniors to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes. By participating in the PACE Southeast Michigan Set the PACE 5K, YOU can help set up our Community Giving Fund for success, to ensure our participants get everything they need to stay safe in their homes.

What is PACE Southeast Michigan?

PACE Southeast Michigan is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), a capitated managed health plan funded by Medicare and Medicaid. PACE Southeast Michigan is a unique healthcare company because it is the health plan and the comprehensive care provider. PACE Southeast Michigan’s mission is to keep aging, low-income, nursing-home eligible adults with multiple chronic illnesses independent in their own homes by caring for their medical, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.

What does my 5K packet include?
