What We Do
The Arc Detroit was founded in 1951 by a group of parents with a commitment to improve the lives of people with intellectual impairments and other developmental disabilities. Our primary area of service is within the cities of Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park. We provide a full spectrum of services from mental health navigation, special education advocacy, system advocacy and individual and family supports. Equally important to our members is our monthly leisure and recreational services which includes Special Olympics Basketball and Microenterprise Art Program. All of these culturally sensitive services are provided in a safe respectful environment.
