What We Do
Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation (CHSCF) supports young adults (16-39) during their cancer diagnosis, treatment and beyond. We advance our mission through a variety of advocacy and programming.
At diagnosis, CHSCF offers FREE information bags filled with helpful resources to assist with the life altering experience of a cancer diagnosis. These are available at Michigan hospitals and online for mail delivery.
For many young adults who have put their lives on hold after hearing the phrase “You have cancer”, the real battle begins after the bell has rung. CHSCF is passionate about encouraging young adults to take a risk on adventure based weeklong programs (camp). We host Base2Summit (B2S); a FREE weeklong survivorship program in Northern Michigan. At B2S we facilitate wellness, adventure and connection through hiking, kayaking and some down time on one of Michigan’s supreme lakes. CHSCF also offers travel assistance, in the form of airfare, to other programs listed on our website.
Each year CHSCF offers a minimum of two $1,000 Base2Summit scholarship’s for Michigan residents looking to advance in post high school education. Application and requirements are listed on our website.
