What We Do

At The Coddiewomple Fund, we believe mental health is health, and that licensed mental healthcare is a basic need. Our mission is to ensure that no human has to decide between their other basic needs and receiving the help they deem is necessary.

The Coddiewomple Fund's focus is to provide financial assistance to those struggling to afford licensed mental health therapy. We recognize that the cost to access and maintain quality licensed therapy is significant and is unaffordable for most. At the Coddiewomple Fund, we focus on bridging that gap for individuals and their families who are unable to bare the cost associated with receiving this type of care.

Our focus is to meet humans where they are and recognize that individual needs vary. This focus is our guidepost for how we show up for the community. We recognize that there are those who have established care with a professional they have built trust with, and we respect and honor that. Because of this, we do not require individuals to leave their provider to receive assistance. As long as the provider is licensed in the State of Michigan and in good standing, they qualify. We work with clinicians in the area with availability to assist individuals that are still seeking to find a provider as well.

What also sets us apart from other non-profits is, we are inclusive to both those with and without insurance and assistance is not determined solely on income level. We assist with costs such as co-pays, deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, and/or full session costs. What we know is that adding a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly expense can be difficult to manage for a majority of Michiganders, coupled with there are very few resources that reach the breadth of individuals that are unable to take on these costs.
