Over the last 31 years, our mission within the seven counties of Southeast Michigan that we serve is to provide an anonymous tip line for the reporting of vital information to help solve crime as well as the delivery of educational safety programs and information through our Center for Crime Prevention.
The anonymous tip line has been a valuable tool to over 200 law enforcement agencies in Southeast Michigan, with over 42,000 tips having been reported in the last six years. These tips have resulted in numerous arrests/convictions and the recovery of over $400,000 worth of drugs, cash, guns, and other criminal contraband. Other outcomes include:
- Practical and continual support to victims and/or their families
- Safer neighborhoods and communities
- Reduces costs of police/courts/jails/prisons
The Center for Crime Prevention works to help individuals identify potential crime risks and learn how to promote personal safety. This information is spread a number of ways including:
- Public speaking events
- Online articles
- YouTube videos
Crime Stoppers of Michigan provides several other community programs including:

- Faith-based programming
- Weekly press conferences
