What We Do

Detroit CHEMpreneurIST is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through innovative programs that blend personal care chemistry with entrepreneurial education. Our mission is to provide students from all backgrounds with safe, inclusive, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and foster skills in science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, art, and mathematics (STEEAM). By equipping students with practical skills and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, we aim to diversify and enrich STEEAM fields, paving the way for minority-owned businesses and strengthening the local economy.

Our Personal Care Chemistry Workshops engage students in creative, hands-on activities to formulate their own cosmetic products. This process encourages critical thinking and scientific exploration, allowing participants to develop hypotheses, experiment with formulations, observe outcomes, and refine their creations. While our Entrepreneurship Workshops guide students through the journey of launching a business, focusing on introducing innovative or enhanced design thinking to the market. Participants explore their unique talents and expand their skill sets, laying a strong foundation to achieve their personal aspirations. Join us in inspiring the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Interesting Info
  • We are the only nonprofit blending personal care chemistry & entrepreneurship, giving students hands-on STEEAM experience and turning ideas into real businesses
  • Our students don’t just learn science, they become CHEMpreneurIST! They create products, design logos, and pitch ideas, gaining real skills for STEEAM careers
  • Less than 30% of STEEAM professionals are people of color. We are actively working to change that by creating access to resources, mentorship, and education
