What We Do

Hello!

Focus: HOPE has been around for more than 55 years recognizing the dignity and beauty of every person, we pledge intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice. And to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection. With special consideration for history, economic station, place, culture, faith, sexual orientation, gender, and race, we affirm this pledge. Visit our website here!

Focus: HOPE serves the community through our many programs and initiatives, with wrap-around services for all of our programs included. We strive to create a community where everyone has a seat at the table.

Our Programs

Early Learning - Focus: HOPE's Early Learning programs educated over 300 children and provided them with 100,000 snacks and meals to students. We also provided over 250 mothers with peer-to-peer support for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and early parenting.

Workforce Development - Our Workforce Development programs prepare individuals with resources and training pathways to build and sustain successful careers. Our Job Training Pathways include Industrial Manufacturing, Information Technology, Construction, Logistics and Transportation, and the DTE Tree Trim Academy. In 2023, 463 students were enrolled in our Job Training pathways and pre-apprenticeship programs and 77.1% of students received job placement upon graduation.

Food For Seniors - In Michigan alone, 5.3% of older adults are considered food insecure. In partnership with federal and state agencies, Focus: HOPE provides over 41,000 seniors with monthly food packages to help meet basic needs. In 2023 we had 269 food box distribution sites with 496,397 packages distributed to seniors.
