What We Do

In 2010, a group of supporters organized as a  non-profit so that we could raise money to support the property and programs that go on around the farm. Since then, we've grown to include many volunteers and participants through our fundraising events and community outreach efforts. Supporting and Preserving Bowers School Farm through fundraising, community outreach, and volunteerism.

About Bowers Farm:

Housed on 93 acres and owned by Bloomfield Hills Schools since 1967.  Animals such as sheep, horses, cattle, and goats graze the pastures along with acres of vegetable production, community gardens, and curated horticultural gardens.   Our mission is to cultivate community through education and engagement with agriculture and the local food system.

The authenticity of a small-scale working farm connects students and the community to where their food comes from. Learning comes alive with meaning and purpose as we welcome every learner to discover and wonder in the world around them. Bowers School Farm has something to explore each season!

Interesting Info
  • We produce the annual Winter Park (sledding hill, winter activities) for the community every Jan - February, hosting thousands of kids and adults for winter fun
  • We produce the annual Fall Festival and Barns and Brews event for the community each fall, hosting thousands of kids and adults for fall farm activities.
  • We provide scholarships to Bowers Farm Camp, and we provide funds for equipment, activities and other items direct to Bowers Farm.
