GDABVI offers extensive training in daily living skills, technology classes including keyboarding, smartphone usage, and Zoom; orientation and mobility for safe travel, and opportunities to socialize for blind and visually impaired individuals. We encourage interested individuals to join our agency support group, New Direction to help cope with vision loss.
We provide socialization activities and opportunities for clients to utilize their orientation and mobility skills in a welcoming environment. Additionally, we host an online educational series featuring speakers on a variety of topics related to eyesight, vision preservation and health, and navigating life without sight. We also offer navigation services to help clients receive and maintain human services as needed, including referrals to networks of qualified vision professionals encompassing optometrists, ophthalmologists, retina specialists and others.
