Since 1958, The Guidance Center has responded to the ever-changing needs of Southeast Michigan residents in Wayne County as an innovative leader in providing quality behavioral health, substance use prevention and treatment, and community outreach services to children, adults and families. Through our 26 programs, our private, non-profit agency leads the way in creating new prevention, education, and treatment models to help children and families learn and grow in all aspects of their lives. The Guidance Center also has the distinction of having the only accredited Children's Advocacy Center in all of Wayne County, Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center provides children impacted by abuse with everything they need to heal and move toward the bright futures they deserve. Kids-TALK CAC sees more than 2,000 children each year.
- We are a large non-profit that has been in existence helping our neighbors for more than 65 years!
- The Guidance Center has a large Community Resource Center in River Rouge, providing clothes, home goods, diapers and formula free of charge to those in need.
- Our Nurture the Future Program provides free workshops and support groups for parents and caregivers of children from birth through young adulthood.
