What We Do

Kids Empowered On the Move is a program with a reputable history that helps mostly Women & Children who are experiencing homelessness. Before they are homeless, we try to work out solutions with their current housing, if they are beyond that and are already on the homelessness journey, we help them navigate and move them forward wherever they are.  We help with their basic needs, including food, clothing, and shelter (which usually includes emergency hotel rooms). There are only 16 beds for families in Oakland County. We try and help them navigate through the system, we help acquire documents, fill out applications, and look for housing. Whatever is needed to move a person to the next level in their homeless to home journey. We also assist with Christmas and Easter adoption programs! A Book Buddy program where 200 children receive a book from an author who then reads their book to the children. Our eyes are on the children, we try are hardest to not have a child sleeping in a car.  We are a grass roots organization with amazing volunteers. We have been able to house many this year. Help us not say no to a kid sleeping in a car.
