What We Do

KidsRead2Kids is a 501(c)(3), Parents Choice award-winning nonprofit founded by dyslexic and ADHD siblings to bring joy and confidence back to the struggling learner. Our goal is to show all children - regardless of their background - that they are not alone, and that their futures hold endless possibilities. Our original literary and educational resources are utilized in homes, schools, and libraries in over 60 countries.

According to Understood.org, 1 in 5 children have learning challenges. Statistics show that children who struggle to read rarely read on their own - in fact, according to the American Psychological Association, one in three teenagers has not read a book for pleasure in a year. Why is this a problem? It has been long documented that potential consequences for non-readers are dangerous and wide-reaching. The Reading Foundation states that poor readers are more likely to suffer from academic, emotional, and social issues, such as low self-esteem, dropping out of school, or facing other disciplinary and criminal issues.

That’s where we come in. KidsRead2Kids provides video-audiobooks of abridged classic novels, read chapter by chapter so that anyone, anywhere in the world, can listen and learn at their own pace. Along the way, listeners will learn new vocabulary words, boost their analytical thinking, improve their writing skills, and even increase their working memory. Our books are read by high school volunteers of varying backgrounds, who serve as role models and sources of inspiration. According to the National Literacy Trust, having a positive reading role model can change a child’s relationship with literacy for life.

In addition, KidsRead2Kids offers engaging, multi-sensory activities, through our collection of lesson plans, digital magazine, and five-set curriculum book club. Our goal is to inspire and empower children to embrace their differences and to see endless possibilities for their future. Recently, our educational products have received the 2023 Product of the Year Award and Creative Play of the Year from Creative Child Magazine.

Our new book, KidsRead2Kids Presents... Amazing Tales!, is a neurodivergent survival guide for kids, tweens, and teens worldwide. It won the Parents' Picks 2024/25 awards for Best Middle and High School Product and Best Educational Product in the World!

Our partners include Dr. Gummer’s Good Play Guide, the National Center on Improving Literacy (NCIL), The International Dyslexia Association, Symbaloo, The ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity, Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, Teach My Kid to Read, Brilliant Detroit, Friendship Circle, the Bloomfield Hills Schools District, and more.
