Since 2004, the Malta Clinic has provided medical care free of charge to uninsurable patients in Metro Detroit. In 2006, we added dental services; in 2023 we added vision services; and just this year we added auditory services. Our mission is to provide exceptional and compassionate dental, medical and eye care free of charge and without discrimination to uninsurable residents of metro Detroit.
We are staffed by volunteer medical professionals who generously give of their time and talent. They are assisted by pre-professional medical and dental students, also volunteers.
We treat diabetes, high blood pressure and wound care. We perform dental exams and cleanings, extractions, fillings, and provide dentures. Our vision services include exams and prescription glasses. Auditory services include exams and hearing aids.
Since our inception, we have served over 22,000 uninsured, low-income patients.
- We were founded by the Michigan Area Order of Malta, a lay religious order founded thousands of years ago.
