What We Do

The Michigan Youth Education Fund empowers youth and makes educational events accessible to all students by providing grants to cover the cost of conference fees and travel.

The Michigan Youth Education Fund (MiYEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on giving K-12 students access to experiential learning outside of the classroom. Our organization believes that a fundamental part of education is learning through different academic experiences. Unfortunately, many students are unable to participate in extracurricular activities due to the financial costs associated with events and travel. Here at the Michigan Youth Education Fund, we are breaking down barriers, so that all students are able to participate in the educational activities that will help to advance learning, inspire change, and promote leadership. We believe in coordinating with school districts, teachers, parents, and students to provide the most for our Michigan students.

Interesting Info

We have helped hundreds of students around Michigan find and attend virtual educational opportunities in 2020.
Participation in school activities decreased because of the cost by 27% among households with an income of less than $60,000.
We want to make sure no student has to sit out on the sideline and miss out on valuable, hands-on education due to financial reasons.
