What We Do

Racquet Up Detroit is 14 years strong in offering an intensive, holistic and long-term youth development program. The purpose is to help Detroit students get to and through college or a career. Youth join in 5th grade and are supported through graduation from high school and college. 100% of the students to complete the program have graduated from high school and gained access to college. Over many years in the program, students are provided with significant academic support, world-class coaching in the sport of squash, and a wide range of character-building exposure activities.

In Racquet Up's core program, students attend three weekly practices in the after school hours, where their time is split between academic and education support, and fitness and squash training. Students are also engaged in enrichment trips, weekend squash tournaments around the country, college visits, career exploration, mentorship opportunities, and extensive summer opportunities.

Our mission is to support and empower Detroit youth so they can achieve their full potential through a long-term, demanding, and inspiring mentoring program of squash, academics, and community service.
