Raptor Center of Southeast Michigan
The Raptor Center of Southeast Michigan is a small non-profit organization comprised of two experienced rehabilitation volunteers and four dedicated transport volunteers. With over 35 years of combined experience working with and handling raptors, we focus on the rehabilitation of injured and sick birds of prey. Our primary objective is to reintegrate these magnificent creatures into their natural habitat whenever possible. We intake vultures, hawks, owls, falcons and eagles.
Our mission is to rehabilitate sick, injured, or orphaned raptors and return them to the wild in a healthy, fit condition, while increasing the over-all knowledge of raptors and raptor husbandry through networking and field work.
We hold state and federal permits to work with these special creatures and have countless hours of training and experience with these predators.
Please note, it is illegal to possess, own, or keep a wild raptor or native bird without the proper state and federal permits. If you ever have questions about handling or owning a wild bird, contact your state's department of wildlife resources.
- We are dedicated to offering a second chance for birds to soar freely once more. We warmly invite the public to join us during our releases!
- We work with local and national wildlife organizations to place non-releasable birds in education and conservation ambassador programs.
- One of the highlights of our work is connecting with individuals who generously contribute their time to assist the birds!
