Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment (SAFE) Mission
To equip survivors with the financial tools and resources needed to enable women to leave or recover from the economic portion of domestic violence.
Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment’s (SAFE) free virtual services equip survivors of domestic violence with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to end the cycle of economic abuse, while maintaining their personal safety via online methods and free conference calls. SAFE Jobs provides ongoing training, support and safety planning for victims of domestic violence in Detroit, Michigan. The sessions incorporate economic empowerment initiatives for survivors of domestic violence and address other barriers that survivors of domestic violence face. Topics included in SAFE Jobs training include Job Seeking, Resume Creation, Interviewing Skills, Customer Service, Personal Finances, Networking, online job seeking safety, and budgeting, among other topics. The SAFE Jobs program provides critical training and support for survivors of domestic violence in Detroit to become financially self-sufficient from abuse.
