Sisters Supporting Sisters

Sisters Supporting Sisters (SSS) was established in Flint, Michigan, in 2020. Our organization is driven by a profound commitment to promoting sisterhood, unity, and making a positive impact on the Flint community. Our mission is centered on providing essential resources to empower and support women and children in our community. Through a variety of networking avenues and initiatives, we strive to create a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

Our organization hosts a range of events and programs that are designed to educate, foster community connections, and contribute to an improved quality of life for our constituents. Some of our key initiatives include:

• Women Empowerment Brunches: These gatherings serve as platforms for women of all backgrounds to come together, share experiences, and empower each other through meaningful discussions and workshops.
• Heal the Mind Group Therapy Sessions: Mental health is a vital component of overall well-being, and our therapy sessions provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to address their mental health challenges and seek healing.
• Sparkle to Success Mentor Program: Our mentorship program is specifically tailored for teenage girls, offering them guidance, support, and inspiration as they navigate their way to personal growth and success.
• Community Awareness Events: We regularly organize events that raise awareness about critical issues in our community, such as education, healthcare, and social justice. These events aim to foster community engagement and drive positive change.

Our desired audience and participants are women and children within the Flint community who are seeking opportunities for personal growth, empowerment, and community engagement. We are dedicated to serving this demographic by providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive and make meaningful contributions to society.

Our mission is to empower and uplift women and children in the Flint community by providing them with essential resources, support, and a nurturing community. We firmly believe that through unity, empowerment, and community involvement, we can create a brighter and more prosperous future for all those we serve.

As of 2020 our programs have positively impacted 24,100 people worldwide and 20,000 individuals within the Flint community. We are committed to continuing our mission and expanding our reach to touch the lives of even more women and children, living out the vision of a stronger, more united community.
