What We Do

The mission of Starkweather Arts Center is to promote and foster the appreciation of the arts and artists and to support the preservation of the character and quality of life in the Historic Village of Romeo.
This summer, we are able to resume our Empty Bowls program, which enables us to engage the community in making clay bowls, which will be sold to raise money for local food pantries.

Interesting Info

Monthly Art Shows, Student Art & Scholarships, Art Classes, Monthly Open Mic, Gift Shop supporting local artisans, Community Outreach.
We operate out of a 1865 building that was once home to Helen Starkweather, a Romeo art and drafting teacher.
Our biggest goal would be to have yearly dedicated funding to assist our board in staffing, programming and building repairs.
