What We Do

Urban Neighborhood Initiatives is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that currently operates in the Springwells neighborhood of southwest Detroit. UNI is inspired by a vision of community where people have hope, education is valued, families are strong, and opportunities abound. Our unified, integrated strategy includes economic development, youth development (pre-school through workforce development and educational support), adult education, and community beautification including public art and physical asset creation to grow community pride, inspire reinvestment, improve safety, and spark personal career development.
