Wayne County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
What We Do
There are approximately 3,000 children in the child welfare system in Wayne County.
Wayne County CASA provides a voice for those children who have experienced abuse and neglect, and placed in foster care, by recruiting, screening, training, and supervising community volunteers to advocate on their behalf. Our CASA volunteer advocates are appointed by the Third Judicial Circuit Court, Juvenile division to make recommendations for the best interest including the safety, permanency, and well-being of every child for whom we are assigned. Our specially trained volunteers strive to become a positive, stable influence for Wayne County Children, while ensuring they have a voice in and out of Court, for a stable future.
