BOARD MEMBER DESCRIPTION
Purpose: To advise, govern, and assist with the leadership and promotion of the Dearborn Pastoral Counseling Center (DPCC). To actively support the organizations mission statement.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and advice
- Hiring, supporting, and reviewing performance of the agency Executive Director
- Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for DPCC and assist in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships to advance the DPCC mission
- Oversight of agency performance related to finances, and compliance with legal and contractual obligations
- Oversee agency policies, procedures and future direction
- Review organizational and programmatic reports
- Promote the agency in the community
Meetings and Time Commitment: The Board of Directors meets four times per year. Meetings average 60 to 90 minutes. Other meetings may be scheduled as circumstances may require. Board Members are expected to attend, as able, events that are considered important to support the mission and goals of the agency.
Expectations of Board Members:
- Attend and actively participate in Board Meetings
- Be aware of community concerns that can be addressed by DPCC
- Support agency fundraising and the visibility of the agency in the community.
- Financially support DPCC in a manner commensurate with one’s ability
