Leader Dogs for the Blind

Client drivers use Leader Dog vehicles to provide safe transportation for Leader Dog clients to and from the Leader Dog campus. Volunteers also transport board members, seminar attendees and other guests with or without guide dogs to the airport, transportation centers, and local businesses. In addition to providing transportation, volunteers escort clients through airport security and to their gate, problem-solve if a flight is delayed or cancelled, and make clients feel at ease under stressful travel situations. This is a multi-faceted role requiring complex training and shadowing of veteran drivers. Drives are schedule on Saturdays and Sundays, so weekend availability is required for this position.
