Description: 

"I Have a Dream" Vision Boarding for Entrepreneurs, a transformative workshop. This is more than just a crafting session; it's a powerful journey into the heart of entrepreneurship, tailored for individuals who dare to dream big for themselves and for their community.

Activity: 

Students will harness the power of mixed media to create vision boards that reflect their aspirations and entrepreneurial spirits. We encourage participants to vision starting their own business. What would it be? What unique values, services, or products  would it offer? While visualizing a future where their business contributes to the flourishing of our community.

  • 7/3 - Chemistry

Description: 

“Healthy Skin, Healthy Life” students will learn about the largest organ of the body, our skin. We'll explore the science behind skin renewal, and understand why exfoliation is not just a luxury but a necessity for maintaining healthy, glowing skin.

Activity: 

Each student will have the opportunity to create a personalized body scrub using natural exfoliators, gain knowledge to make healthier, sustainable skincare choices, and an effective body scrub to add to their skincare routine.

Description: 

"Brand Builders: Logo Design and Development"

Students are introduced to the fundamentals of branding and logo design. Through this lesson, students will explore the power of visual identity in business and learn how to create effective logos that communicate the essence of a brand.

Activity: 

Students analyze a selection of famous logos, identifying the elements that contribute to their effectiveness. Then students are guided through drafting their own brand.

  • 7/17 - Chemistry

Description: 

"Mix It Up: The Chemistry of Products” participants explore the various types of mixtures found in everyday life, with a special focus on how these concepts apply to the creation of cosmetic products. students will explore the various mixture properties and learn how they combine to create safe and effective personal care products, such as bath bombs.

Activity: 

Students will engage in interactive experiments to understand the differences between homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures and how these mixtures are used to create everything from lotions to lip balms. Through hands-on sensory exploration students will learn to identify different types of mixtures based on how they feel. They will gain practical experience in applying scientific principles to real-world scenarios, enhancing their critical thinking and inquiry skills while making a bath bomb.

  • 7/24 - Entrepreneurship

Description:

"Market Detectives: Uncovering Business Opportunities” introduces students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship through the lens of opportunity analysis and market research. This lesson aims to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset by emphasizing the importance of understanding consumer needs, market trends, and how to spot gaps in the market that could lead to successful business ventures.

Activity: 

Students will become 'Market Detectives' for the day. Their mission is to observe their surroundings, interact with potential consumers (peers, teachers, staff), and use surveys to gather data on needs, preferences, and unsolved problems. Students will practice real-world entrepreneurial skills by conducting market research, analyzing data, and pitching a business idea.

  • 7/31 - Chemistry

Description: 

"Colors from Nature: Extraction & Concentration" students will explore the concepts of extraction and concentration through the lens of personal care chemistry. Students will discover how natural dyes are obtained from plants and used in cosmetics, learning the importance of concentration in achieving the desired color intensity. 

Activity: 

Students create dye solutions at various concentrations by diluting their extracts with different amounts of water. They should have at least three levels of concentration for comparison: high, medium, and low. Each student will paint a piece of art using their natural dyes, encouraging experimentation with different concentrations to achieve a variety of shades

  • 8/7 - Entrepreneurship

Description: 

"Pitch Perfect: The Ultimate Entrepreneurship Challenge" Students are introduced to the world of entrepreneurship through the engaging format of a pitch competition. This lesson encourages students to think like entrepreneurs, developing innovative ideas and learning how to effectively communicate their visions to others.

Activity: 

Students will join a Pitch Competition and gain an understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into a compelling business proposition. Through this lesson, students will develop key skills in creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and public speaking, setting the foundation for their entrepreneurial journeys. This engaging competition not only educates but also inspires students to think critically about the opportunities and challenges of starting a business.

  • 8/14 - CHEMpreneurIST

Description: 

"Final Showdown: Entrepreneurship & Chemistry Jeopardy!" A game-based lesson is designed to sum up everything students have learned in their entrepreneurship and chemistry lessons in a fun, interactive, and competitive format.

Activity: 

Drawing inspiration from the classic Jeopardy game show, this lesson challenges students to recall key concepts, apply knowledge in new contexts, and work together to solve problems, all while racing against the clock and their classmates for the top spot.
