Description: Clara's Hope seeks a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Summer Intern. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with our organization's leaders, contribute to meaningful projects, and make a positive impact in our community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission and eager to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning, communications, and fundraising.

Hours: 10-15 hours weekly (end of May through mid August)

Location: Remote & On-site 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Back to School Bash Event Coordination: Collaborate with the event leader to plan and coordinate the annual Back to School Bash event. Responsibilities include managing donations, coordinating food and supplies, creating a timeline, sending invites, recruiting volunteers, and promoting the event on social media.
  2. Email Campaign Management: Assist in developing and executing an overall email campaign plan, including identifying target audiences, drafting content, and scheduling send-outs.
  3. Social Media Strategy: Create engaging social media graphics and develop a timeline plan for posts throughout the year. Campaigns to focus on include Socktober, Christmas family sponsorships, Auction 2025, August 8 & 8/8 campaign, Pizza on the Lake, BBQ for Hope, and other scheduled events. Additionally, regularly feature Clara's Hope's mission and impact. Plan ways to feature children on MARE.org via Clara’s Hope social media channels to increase awareness and support.
  4. Content Calendar: Develop a schedule/calendar for social media posts, highlighting key events, campaigns, and initiatives throughout the year.
  5. Volunteer Infographic: Design an infographic outlining the volunteer process, volunteer roles, needs of families, and other pertinent information to attract and inform potential volunteers.
  6. Donor Retention Support: Collaborate with the director to enhance the current donor retention plan (3-3-3-1) and implement strategies to increase donor engagement and support.
  7. Administrative Support: Assist with organizing digital files in Google Drive and Canva, update organizational documents, and maintain communication with relevant organizations like the Council of Michigan Nonprofits.
  8. Marketing and Merchandise: Design and order Clara's Hope Swag for the year 2024, and contribute to the creation of a digital Summer Newsletter for June.
  9. December Appeal Letter: Draft the 2024 December Appeal Letter to engage donors and supporters during the holiday season.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva) preferred
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for Clara's Hope mission and commitment to making a difference in the community
