Interested in learning about refugee services? Want to fight hunger in the community? Come volunteer at the UCFS Sharehouse Food Pantry!
United Community Family Services (UCFS) was founded in 1961 by a group of immigrant and refugee women looking to support other newcomers. Over 60 years since its founding, UCFS continues to carry out its mission of providing programs that guide, support, and empower individuals to achieve self-sufficiency with dignity and hope.
One of our most impactful programs is our Sharehouse Food Pantry. Every month, staff and volunteers work together to distribute thousands of pounds of food to hundreds of local families. We would love to invite your group of students to come volunteer with us in helping to prepare the food boxes (3/13) and/or distribute the food (3/14).
If your group is interested, we would be happy to give an overview of the work that we do supporting refugee families and answer any questions that you may have.
