What We Do

With arts as the motivating catalyst, Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit develops and inspires the behaviors and critical life and learning skills youth need to have successful, empowered lives. Through transformative artistic experiences in music, theater, and technical theater we promote scholarship and global citizenship, providing a vehicle for youth to apply the skills they learn through mastery in the arts to academic and real-world experiences. Mosaic envisions a world where young people have equitable access to high-quality arts education experiences that feed their spirit, honor them as people, and broaden their horizons. Mosaic’s creative youth development programs advance outcomes for Detroit-area youth, helping them embrace and activate their voice, make sense of the world they live in, and build important skills that they need to thrive. By investing in young people in this way we believe we will see a marked improvement in education, civic engagement, and ultimately financial health in our communities
