What We Do
The "dialysis lifestyle" can be extremely challenging, considering that patients normally must be dialyzed three times a week, usually four hours each time. The treatment itself ordinarily renders patients very weak and barely able to function.
We provide:
- One on one Peer Mentoring
- Preventive Health Education
- Suicide Prevention Certification
- Support Group Activities
- Essential Items (When possible)
- Resource Guidance.
For patients, our goal is to show them that they can thrive on dialysis. For the community, our goal is to educate and inform, as well as to prevent kidney failure.
Interesting Info
- Statistically, out of every 10 people who have chronic kidney disease, nine do not know they have it. We aim to improve the quality of life for kidney patients
- Our peer mentoring helps with anxiety and depression. Our support groups push back against social isolation.
- As we provide new dialysis patient caregivers with guidance, we connect them with essential community resources.
