Share Detroit held its second annual Summer SHARE event at Jimmy John’s Field on June 10th. Nonprofit partners, sponsors, and community members came together to enjoy a BBQ meal and celebrate the start of summer watching the Eastside Diamond Hoppers split a double header with the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers from the stadium’s patio.

The Certified Fund Raising Executives, is an independent organization promoting ethics and professionalism in fundraising, confirmed Aisha Morrell-Ferguson, COTS’ Chief Development Officer, as one of only 180 this year and 7700 worldwide to receive their CFRE designation.

On International Women’s Day, we would like to announce the election of Cheryl P. Johnson, CEO of COTS, as the current board chair of New Detroit, Inc. Ms. Johnson is an experienced non-profit leader and the first person of color, and Black woman, to lead in the racial equity organization’s 55-year history.
