National Give Something Away Day
“No one has ever become poor by giving.” - Anne Frank
July 15th is National Give Something Away Day! There are several action points you can take on this day. SHARE Detroit’s four pillars of giving are: donating money, volunteering time, attending an event, and shopping for items from nonprofit wish lists. Today is the perfect day to use the SHARE website to look for a new nonprofit to support, explore volunteer opportunities, and explore wish lists!
Or maybe you’ve noticed that your “for donation” pile from your recent spring cleaning is overflowing? In that case, we will remind you of well known donation spots in southeast Michigan that we are partnered with, including Macomb County Habitat for Humanity and The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division.
You can check out our full directory of nonprofits here. However you choose to give today, remember that our collective donations contribute to the health of our communities!
